Collab at Pine St launched in 2017. This new gallery is dedicated to promoting emerging, early and mid career artists through our professionally curated exhibition program. We aim to create a dynamic platform for artistic work.

Founded by a curatorial duo who observed the need for more than the prevailing blank hire space, Collab endeavours to be true to its name by providing an artist-led and collaborative curatorial approach, offering artists opportunities to participate in a variety of exhibitions — ranging from installations and short-term residencies to solo and group shows. Collab offers specialist curatorial services to exhibitors, including exhibition design, exhibition texts and advertising. Central to the gallery are workshops, talks and events that extend the possibilities of creative conversation, exchange and participation.

Heather Tralaggan and Susannah Smith have backgrounds in independent curation, arts writing and engagement, and are passionate about fostering a new kind of creative space in Sydney.

Susannah is Assistant Curator for European Art at the Art Gallery of NSW. She holds a MA History of Art from the Courtauld Institute of Art, London and a BA Art History and Theory, University of Sydney.

Heather is a Public Programs Coordinator for the Friends Society of Hazelhurst Regional Gallery. She holds a MA Art Curatorship and a BA Art History and Theory from the University of Sydney.

Situated in Chippendale above the City of Sydney's Pine Street Creative Arts Centre studios, Collab Gallery is located in the heart of Sydney’s creative scene.
