“Most arcadias have already been touched and in the idea of yet-to-be discovered environs seems a fanciful notion. In an era of competing interests, today’s arcadia evokes both beauty and compromise” - Kezia Geddes

Felicity Jenkins finds her own sense of an Arcadian or Utopian landscape within small pockets of urban green space around home in inner Sydney.

Her romantic scenes of seemingly rural landscapes are revealed in their title to in fact belong to the inner city. The Nature Survey series is imbued with radiating light inspiring us to look out and to look up - to find arcadian glimpses all around.

Jenkins  is active in the Sydney photographic community with particular interest in social documentary, landscape and portraiture. In 1997 she was awarded the Arts Fellowship to the Antarctic for four months and returned in 2005 as Media Artist in Residence. She works full time at the Art Gallery of NSW in the photography studio and continues to regularly exhibit. She has recently joined the photography collective “The Fine Focus Collective “ to continue to nurture her fine arts practice.
