2017, aluminium and enamel paint, 300 x 170 x 100mm

Tango is a recent graduate from the National Art School with a B.Fine Arts in Sculpture. Her work explores planar space by distorting, folding and playing with textural contrasts. Working predominantly with aluminium and steel she pushes traditionally static materials into rhythmic territory that ripples with momentum. This series of small-scale sculptures inhabit both the wall and the plinth, punctuating the space it sits within, forming undulations which the eye can play between.

Tango’s recent achievements include the Jocelyn Maughan Sketchbook Prize, the John Olsen Prize for Figure Drawing and as a joint collaborative prize, the Sculpture By the Sea Graduate Prize.
