Sinéad Kelly's contemplative and lyrical watercolours were featured in miniature (1-26 March 2017), our first exhibition in our Pine Street gallery space.
We each undertake so many journeys throughout our lives, experiencing them in a great many ways. Ranging across the physical, spiritual, emotional, intellectual and beyond, journeys move us and deliver change. These works explore the theme on a scale that is intimate, seeking to capture fleeting but meaningful moments. Sinéad Kelly journeys her lyrical, deftly controlled brushwork across the paper, utilising blank areas to create the possibility of an infinite space extending beyond the immediate.
Born in Sligo, Ireland, Kelly studied both design and visual art in London and at the University of Ulster, Belfast. Kelly worked in interior architecture for a number of years, then object and jewellery design. She has been Head of Design at Dinosaur Designs here in Sydney and now works as an Interior Designer.
